THE Staff
Ying, operations manager and optician, smiling and flashing peace signs in front of the frame wall

Ying

OPERATIONS MANAGER
My name is Ying (pronounced with a silent "Y," like "ING") and I was born in Hunan, China. I have been an optician since 2015. I love finding the ideal frame for every customer and answering questions about insurance coverage. I also handle much of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the office running smoothly.

My favorite pastimes include mahjong, cooking Chinese food, attempting to grow a variety of plants from seeds, going to Asian markets, and spending time with my adorable daughter and my naughty dog, Pao Pao.

Fun facts: I wear a size 2.5 shoe, and my favorite American food is hash browns.

Jessica

OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN
I have been an Optometric Technician since 2018 and I love helping to change patients’ lives two eyeballs at a time. I’ve lived in Austin since 2002 and I’ve moved 13 times. That’s too much! Amirite?!

Fun Facts: I love the following in no particular order: HORROR movies, hiking, red lipstick, THE CURE, acting, laughing, singing, running, DANCING, nighttime, music, cold weather, CHOCOLATE(!!), skulls, skeletons and all things creepy. The thing I love the most—above all—is my precious baby doggy Skulls. She’s the cutest dog in Austin, y’all. No lie!

Eden

OPTICIAN
Hi Bestie! While my professional journey here began in 2021, my history with Austin goes way back—born, raised, and a local through and through. When I'm not helping people elevate their style, you can find me with a coffee the size of Texas and a laugh to match. Curating your perfect look should be exciting, not stressful. Relax, I’ve got you covered, and we’re going to find exactly what makes you shine…. Can we go grab a drink now?

Fun Facts: Breakfast foods are my jam! All day, err’ day. I play volleyball any chance I get, love sci-fi, and grabbing an icy marg (happy hour queen)

Wearing Dita Obsidion.
Valerie, optician, smiling with a hand on her hip in front of the frame wall

Valerie

OPTICIAN
Hola! My name is Valerie and I’ve been in the optical game since 2016. I’m originally from the West coast but came to Texas to style patients and wrangle cattle. And I am all out of cattle to wrangle. I love picking the right frame for all your beautiful faces. A blank canvas for which I must paint! I enjoy getting to know each patient to understand their wants and needs! It’s the best part of my job! After-hours you can usually find me at some good local restaurants or with my family at home!

Fun Facts: Love spending time with my two kids we enjoy exploring different playgrounds in Austin and trying out different foods.
Chrissy, lead optometric technician, smiling in front of the frame wall

Chrissy

Lead Optometric Technician
Howdy! My name is Chrissy, my pronouns are She/They and I’ve been an Optometric Technician since 2022. I am originally from New Jersey and moved to Texas in August 2018. I am really enjoying calling Austin home, but am still in the hunt for that pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich. My goal is to make every patient feel welcomed and relaxed in our office. If there is anything I can do to make you feel more comfortable, don’t hesitate to let me know! Especially if you like seeing pet photos: I have 3 adorable fur babies, Kovu, Tommy Pickles and Oscar Gherkin.

Fun Facts: I love anything outdoors! This includes hiking in national parks, Sunday walks with my fam, camping on the beach, playing all kinds of sports and trying out new/ fun breweries.
Justin, optical manager, in round glasses and a black jacket in front of the frame wall

Justin

Optical Manager
Born from the twister-carved plains of Kansas, I made it to a wildly different Austin in 2004, the moment the highway would allow. As optical manager and assistant buyer at Look + See, I've got real skin in the game. Besides nursing an unhealthy dissatisfaction with a bad optical fit, I'm chasing one moment: a fun hang with someone who's hated themselves in glasses since toddlerhood, trying on the pair that finally makes them feel like themselves. On their best day. Beaming. I don't sell glasses. I lead you through the deep dark forest, hacking through twisting vines and snarling thorns, until we step out together into the light. I'll also tell you no — not because it's fun (it is), but because I'm right. Trust me.

Fun Fact: Everything is a chemical.
Tyler, optometric technician, in glasses and black scrubs in front of the frame wall

Tyler

Optometric Technician
Meet Tyler, a proud Kansas City, Kansas native who swapped the heartland for the heart of Texas! Since 2023, he’s been holding down the fort as a Patient Care Coordinator/Optometric Technician at Look + See Vision Care, where he helps folks see the world a little clearer—one eye chart at a time. When he’s not at work, you can find Tyler living that peak cozy lifestyle. He’s either out walking trails, locked in a high-stakes battle with a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle, or tending to his ever-growing collection of houseplants (yes, they all have names, and yes, they are thriving).

Fun Fact: While he has no problem staring straight into a human eyeball, Tyler is absolutely terrified of crabs. Seriously, keep those sideways-walking pincher monsters away from him.

Wearing Ahlem Triomphe.
Ruben, optician, smiling in a black button-up shirt in front of the frame wall

Ruben

Optician
Just a small-town boy living in an optical world. Originally from Deep East Texas, Ruben swapped the pine trees for live oaks eight years ago. While he might be relatively new to the vision game, he has a natural gift for making patients feel completely comfortable and taken care of.

Outside the office, you can find him at the gym lifting heavy circles (and putting them back down, of course) or immediately undoing that hard work by hunting down something delicious to satisfy his massive sweet tooth.

Fun Fact: Ruben has some secret merman genes—he can hold his breath underwater for almost two minutes!
Uni, the office dog, a shaggy Australian Shepherd and Poodle mix wearing yellow glasses and looking at a magazine

Uni

OPTOMETRY ASSISTANT
Hi! I’m the office doggo and I’m here to give all of our patients snuggles. I’m an Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix who is still in training, so please bear with me! My favorite things are belly rubs, sticks, rocks, and beef liver.

If you see me, feel free to give me some pets (but please ask me to “sit” first)!

Fun Facts: I absolutely hate the Texas heat and will always choose air conditioning over playing outside.

Let’s hang out.
